Our Unique Niche


What we strive for at VSO is to reduce poverty by building a long term capacity of local service providers and companies. We assign skilled professionals to work alongside those in a hands-on manner to support projects in health, education, job creation and participation & governance through the sharing of technical expertise. Furthermore, we reflect on our development practices, forming innovative solutions and success driven approaches to support our partners and beneficiaries.

  • EEVT Project
    EEVT Project

    BG Tanzania, aims to improve the employability of youth by focusing on the growing demand for skilled labour in the gas industry and related services. VETA will work with VSO to develop the capacities of teachers in this field to produce a steady stream of qualified craftsmen and teachers.

  • EQUIP-T Project
    EQUIP-T Project

    The EQUIP-T Project provides Teacher Training College services to mentoring student teachers. By assisting them in the development of Teaching Methodology and English language development skills, the project strengthens the capacities of primary and secondary schools, educating students in high quality learning environments using well developed academic curriculums.

  • RITA Project
    RITA Project

    The Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA) project strives to improve birth registration rates for children under five years of age, as well as to build capacities and manage accurate information on key life events such as birth, death, marriage and divorce.

What we do


Our core expertise is in education, health, wealth creation and participation & governance. In recent years, we have been particularly successful in integrating those four components together into a holistic programme that applies to a specific geographic area to provide support for its entire community.

We are currently working all across Tanzania and reaching out to 284,025 beneficiaries.

VSO fights poverty through recruiting teachers, doctors, midwives and other skilled experts to work with communities. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we aim to create positive changes in the lives of local people, empowering them to be active agents in development. At VSO, we aim to find lasting, sustainable approaches to reduce poverty. We can only accomplish this by working together.
